ABOUT
The Shadow Tribe is a Young Adult Fantasy series for story lovers, ages 12 to 99. Written as a 7 Part series, it was initially published in 7 parts (the covers are seen above and below) as well as Books (Parts 1-3, Parts 4 & 5, and Patrs 6 & 7). For marketing reasons, and for simplicity, the series is now sold as a trilogy. What can I say? I am a bit of an experimenter, and it was seem, I must first fail before I head in the (hopefully) right direction. Story of my . . . stories.
As it has been in much of my writing career thus far, one of the underlying inspirations for "The Shadow Tribe" is the subject of human worth. My first series, "The Reaper's Seed" (3 out of an eventual 4 books now available) is what I like to call an allegorical epic fantasy. So, in that sense, the driving plot is one of "the redemption of mankind." That's a real bird's eye view of "human worth," expressed in the idea that our Creator would go to great lengths to repair a relationship with us that we have damaged beyond our own ability to fix.
"The Nobleman," a mystery / crime fiction / drama that I published in 2016 is also one where the "equality of men" was a central theme. Not only so, but that our equality is rooted in our being made in God's image. It's a far more mature story, as for content and intensity, but the underlying message is again, this "images of God" idea.
The Shadow Tribe gets a bit more specific, and if you read it, you will see - it deals with the value of all human life, no matter its social status, ability, or developmental stage. You might go so far as to tag "the sanctity of human life" to this series. If that is an important topic to you, and you like YA Fantasy, I don't think you'll be able to go wrong.
Set in its own world, there could be a map, but I simply haven't had the time to doodle in the last two years. Maybe eventually, as every world needs a map, don't you think? Check out my Home Page to see where you can get your eyes on "The Shadow Tribe."
